Today's project is a follow-up to a previous post. I promised (on the 19th September) that I would show you how to make flower pins and today is the day!
It is easy to enhance your pin boards and this blog-make explains how to create these cute flower pins in three steps using clear pins and felt flowers.

I previously showed you how easy it was to make your own pin board by simply taking a cork tile and covering it with a fat quarter of designer fabric.
Here is that post:
As long as you have a cork-based board, these flower pins will work for you.

You will need to use clear pins such as these which I bought in Staples.

I chose them because they are the perfect size for a finger-pull pin and they are clear.

These delightful felted flowers where bought off eBay. You will also need a pair of scissors and glue may be used once you are happy with the look.

To start, take a flower and, using the tips of the scissors....

....snip a teeny tiny hole in the back.

Slide the end of the scissors in to the hole and gently lift and separate the felted fibres.

Take a pin and insert its head in to the small opening.

Make sure you rotate the flower so it covers the top of the pin.

Continue to do this until you have covered as many as you want. Once you are happy with your flower-covered pin heads, glue them in place by adding a drop of glue inside the flower. Re-insert the pin and twist to spread the glue. Leave to dry.

By choosing a funky, floral fabric, the flower pins will look great. I love the way they stand off the board and look like little flowers in the breeze.
If you enjoyed this blog-make, do feel free to leave a comment. Let me know if you can't find any of the items as I will happily make you up a flower pin kit and send it to you.
Have a lovely day. Keep warm!
